There are several ways that contact might be added automatically to your database.
- List import
- Loyalty Kiosk
- SMS Keyword
However, you might run into a situation where you'd like to add a contact manually.
On the Contacts overview screen, you'll see an Add a Contact button in the top right:
Once you've clicked this button, you'll have the opportunity to input this contact's information. By default, you'll input fields for a few standard pieces of information. These include First Name, Last Name, Phone Number, Email Address, SMS On (which determines whether or not this contact will receive SMS — or text — messages), and Email On (which determines whether or not this contact will receive emails from within the CityGro system).
None of these fields are required — you'll put in whatever information you have on the contact. You're limited, of course, by the information that is missing, however. If the contact does not have a phone number (or if that phone number is incomplete or incorrect), they will not receive messages.
Make sure to hit the "Save" button before you leave to ensure that your new contact gets saved.
